The demo and shop mode (Code 8076, 8077) is a special setting for display devices. If your Kobold VR7 was accidentally set to this mode, it will not perform regular cleaning tasks and will often return immediately to the charging station. Restarting or resetting the device via the MyKobold app will restore the device to the standard cleaning mode.
Symptoms of Demo Mode
- Cleaning is canceled after a few seconds
- Robot immediately returns to the station
- App displays message "Demo Mode Active" or Code 8076 / 8077
Solution Steps
- Perform a restart: Turn off the robot at the main switch, wait 60 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Factory reset via app: Open the robot settings in the MyKobold app and select "Reset".
- Set up Wi-Fi again: After the reset, the device must be paired with the Wi-Fi again.
- Test run: Start a normal cleaning to ensure the mode is deactivated.
Important Notes
- Used devices purchased from displays may be delivered in shop mode.
- Stored maps will be lost after the reset – a new mapping is required.
