Is your Kobold VR7 reporting issues when creating the map (Code 7108) or when matching the environment (Code 3001, 3009)? Feature-poor areas such as large glass surfaces or very similar pieces of furniture make mapping difficult. In such cases, the device aborts or starts in standard mode without your No-Go zones.
Causes of Detection Problems
- Large glass surfaces, mirrors, or reflective floors
- Very similar or empty rooms without reference points
- Base station in a feature-poor location
Solution Steps
- Create reference points: There should be sufficient visual features for the LDS sensor in the area around the base station.
- Relocate the base station: In a feature-poor environment, place the base at a different spot in the room.
- Update the map: For significant spatial changes, delete the old floor plan and create a new map.
- Start an exploration run: Let the VR7 complete a full exploration run before setting No-Go zones.
Important Notes
- Doors between rooms should be open during exploration.
- Lighting does not affect the LDS, but direct sunlight does.
