To use your Thermomix Friend® connected with your TM6, you need at least the software version 2.0 on your TM6.
How is the Thermomix Friend® connected to the TM6?
The Thermomix Friend® is connected via Bluetooth® to the Thermomix® TM6. This smart extension of your guided cooking functionality is enabling you to send settings automatically to the Thermomix Friend®.
Pairing/connecting the Thermomix Friend® to TM6
You can connect/pair the Thermomix Friend® directly to your Thermomix® TM6 via Bluetooth®.
- Activate the Bluetooth® function under ‘Settings’ on the Thermomix® TM6 and switch on the Thermomix Friend®.
- When the Thermomix Friend® appears on the list of devices on TM6, tap on it to pair.
- A six-digit code will appear on both the TM6 screen and the Thermomix Friend® screen. Check that the number is the same and confirm on the Thermomix Friend® by pressing its selector.
- Your Thermomix® TM6 will now recognize the Thermomix Friend® and will connect automatically as soon as both devices are switched on. If the connection has been successful, a Bluetooth®® and TM6 symbol will appear on the Thermomix Friend® display above the timer.
Please be aware that the Thermomix Friend® can only connect to one TM6 device (video available)
Do I need internet connection to use the Thermomix Friend® with TM6?
The Thermomix Friend® works without an internet connection. An internet connection will be needed only if you want to follow a guided recipe from Cookidoo® on your TM6 or if you want to synchronize your TM5 with your Cookidoo® account (via Cook-Key).
You will also need an internet connection to update the software of your Thermomix Friend®.
How to connect another Thermomix Friend® to my TM6?
If you want to connect another Thermomix Friend® with the TM6, just go through the pairing process again with your new Thermomix Friend®. However, your TM6 will then ‘forget’ your first Thermomix Friend® and only remember the latest Thermomix Friend®.
You do not have to disconnect the Thermomix Friend®.
Do I need to pair my Thermomix Friend® with the TM6 each time?
No. Once the TM6 was paired the first time and is connected, the device will always recognize the Thermomix Friend® when you turn it on, and Bluetooth® is activated on TM6.
Is Bluetooth® mandatory to use the THERMOMIX FRIEND® with the TM6?
function is available since September 2020 with software version 2.0 for your TM6. After the installation, you must activate Bluetooth® in the setting of your TM6.
You are not forced to use the Bluetooth® connectivity, even if it makes cooking with both devices easier: If you do not want to use Bluetooth®, you can switch it off through the TM6 menu. When you start Thermomix Friend® recipes on your TM6, your TM6 will ask you each time to please connect it to your THERMOMIX FRIEND®. If you skip this message, you can continue cooking with no connection between both devices.
