On my VG100, how do I tell that the dirty water tank is full and what will happen if it is overfilled?

If it overfills, the surplus dirty water will escape at the back of the device.

To avoid this happening, we recommend that you empty the dirty water tank each time your fill up the fresh water.

However, if it does overfill, please stop cleaning immediately and dry the device thoroughly.
